Locked Interest Rate

Today we locked interest rate for our FHA loan @4.75%. The rate has been static for the past 2 weeks and hence decided to lock today.

  1. Whoo hoo, that is GREAT news I hope I can get that good of a rate however I cannot lock in till we have a drywall scheduled. I was advised to wait till drywall. Ugh, just wish things will hurry I am worried about the rates rising too much the longer I wait.

  2. If you dont mind.. Did you go with NVR for that rate? We will be locking early next week at the latest and we will be using NVR.

  4. Yes, we went with NVR (Ryan homes offered free basement if we went thru NVR)..

@Stephanie, are you within the 60 day for closing? For us the drywall will go up next week only..but PM/Loan officer okayed to lock the rate

  5. That's great. Lower than our 4.875 and that was a few months ago!

  6. I really hope that when we lock in our rate it is still 4.75 or lower...i could live with 4.875, but anything higher and I might pass out! lol

  7. 4.75% is good! I am hoping NVR goes to 4.5% like many of the other lenders are right about now. I was told that once our roof goes up, we will be within 60 days and we can lock in which will be next Friday according to our PM. Our lumber was delivered today....that seems pretty quick.

  9. Was wondering if you could post a pic of your kitchen. You chose the exact same cabinets, granite and wood floor color that I'm considering. Sure would love to see it before I finalize.

    Thanks!

  11. Wow,we just started and with how low rates are right now, I'm scared that we won't have rates this low by the time we lock. I'm at http://shakespearedontfailmenow.blogspot.com/. It's the start of our long exciting journey.
